Spreading magic through the power of a good book.

I write stories for children and teens and am represented by Lisa Rodgers at  JABberwocky Literary Agency. My MG contemporary, THE ART OF REAL MAGIC, is on submission to editors. I’m also working on a MG fantasy (almost complete) and a YA Sci-fi (a half-finished mess).

I am a single mom of twin mischief-makers, a dreamer, a scientist, an academic editor, a master gardener and a story-teller. I love magical stories about childhood and those wonderful, awkward teen years. Whether it’s a contemporary story that explores the magic of the natural world, a fantasy with magic-wielding wizards, or a science fiction epic that brings the magic of what may be into our everyday lives, I love stories that make me wonder.

I live in Columbia, Missouri with my twin sons, three rescue cats, our German shepherd mix puppy. and an assortment of foster animals for local animal rescues. I coach little league baseball, rescue kittens and German shepherds,  hike, watch birds and all things outdoorsy, and am still a faster swimmer than my boys (barely). I spent the summer of 2006 in Uganda building houses with Habitat for Humanity, and have a Ph.D. in agricultural economics with an emphasis in sustainable agriculture.

Thanks for exploring my website.
